Christmas comes early

As of this morning, we have a new member of the household.  MH came home and was on the computer, heard a mewing sound and noticed everyone was watching the bed.  So he moved the bed and found that Bonkers (AKA Bonkers) had given birth to a kitten under the bed.

We were all surprised since according to the vet we use (Used to use that is) she had been fixed back after the Cat Pack was weened.  We since checked and found out that they hadn't fixed her and there was some sort of paper mess up.

Needless to say once this little one is weaned she's going to get a real deal.  But who could resist the cuteness.. of this little one?

Mama cat needing a paw.

The cat that MH has been feeding for awhile had her two kittens yesterday.  He's been putting on facebook and checking local fosters to try and find someone to take them in (Apparently its going to get down in the 40s the next three days).  So far no luck but considering he's already taken our heating pad downstairs to put in their box, I think he's making plans just in case.  Speaking of them..  This is the mama and near her hind leg you can see her two kittens (One is white with grey spots, the other is black and white).

If you know anyone in the DFW area that can foster or take her and her kittens in, can you leave a comment or email us?  Thanks!

Alley Oop!

The grey blur from top left to top right is Baby Grey doing a flyby.  She's my horizontal leaper, and Boo is the vertical leaper.  Our downstairs neighbor hears them playing when MH goes to work, and thought at first someone had broken in.

Some more cuteness

We thought you would like to see the little kits now that their becoming not so little.  MH even managed to catch them in the act.

Kitten Pile!

Yaaaawn

Baby Boo

Under the blue towel is a heating pad.  Explains the pile yes?

He's asleep inside a walmart plastic bag, with the litter jug in the background.

The best shot of about 10 trying to catch Boo.

Growing up fast!

The little ones are growing up fast!  They've been on canned and dry food for about 2-2 1/2 weeks now (They attack the canned).  Litter box training was completed with input from Mom and Myst.  They sound like a herd of buffalo running thru the apartment when they get rolling, but seem to be doing well.. unless you count the occasional bath.  And with no further fanfare.. Here's the latest and greatest.

Storm making sure their not about to get pounced while drinking.

Sweet sleeping Storm.

Storm posing for a pic, before storming off again to run thru the apartment.

Baby grey, Bug, Boo, Mystery and Storm.

Storm giving you the eyes of kittendom.

Kitten puddle (all cuddled up with Myst)

Somehow all four of the kittens were asleep on this small section of the kitten bomb shelter.  Notice Bugs yawn?

Latest and greatest

The cuteness overload continues, these little ones are all over the place.  Their already good with the litterbox, and even eatting dry food (Theirs or Mine, their not picky).  The fun part is watching MH when he wakes up to turn over, he has to feel around to make sure a kitten isn't sleeping against him.  Without further ado, here are some of the latest pics of the kits.

Play time!

The little ones have started exploring and playing (Its hilarious watching them since their still working on their coordination so some of the moves are funny).  This Saturday they'll become 4 weeks old, didn't know they would already be ready for a litter box and such.  But mama takes good care of them.  MH got some canned kitten food for them and kitten kibble to, so we'll see where that goes.  In the meantime.. here's some new pics of the babes.

And it begins!

I warned him!  But does MH listen?  He saw for himself when he was at home Saturday.  The little black and white girl decided she'd had enough and went out exploring!

Needless to say once he saw her she got alot of cuddling and he even called the friend who was wanting to adopt.  So she got to hear the little one mewing over the phone.
Look at that little chin blaze!  (We both think it makes her look even cuter).

The little ones are ten days old today.  Their growing fast!  I've even watched them paw slapping each other to get to the milk bar -g-.

Kitten Puddle!

This is the little ones this morning (MH Was moving them from one kitty cube to another so he could clean the first one up).  The little grey one is quite loud, especially when breakfast is delayed.

All four seem to be eating well, and they don't mind and Mom doesn't mind when I pick them up and pet them for a few minutes.  Mystery is actually guarding them when Mom is eating and such, so everything seems to be going well.  We're going to start kitten proofing the apartment Saturday (If they give us that long)

And then there were five

Bonkers had her kittens!  MH came home Saturday morning to find her and four kittens under the bed.  Their now in the kitty condo in the living room sleeping and eating.  He took two pics, their kinda fuzzy but should be able to see the little ones.

Thought you all might like this.  Considering Bonkers (I don't think that names gonna stick even though she loves to head bonk and does seem to be slightly insane when playing) was a stray and wouldn't let anyone but MH near (Since he fed her and Thomas), this video should say it all.

After noticing that Bonkers (She loves to headbutt when she's being petted) was getting a bit chubby, we asked a friend to check and found out Bonkers is going to be a mother.  So needless to say (Even though I am still adjusting to the idea) MH brought her inside last night and she's going to stay with us.

She's been purring all night and making biscuits on everything (including MH).  She finally quit sitting next to the door, so maybe she realizes this is a better place for her.

Who rescued who?

This was on our facebook this morning.  And we thought it should be passed along.   We only ask, if you read this, and know someone who rescues ANY animal (be it one or one million).. Be sure they see this
Thanks
MH and Mystery
A friend sent this to me today.. Very sweet....

Unlike most days at Rainbow Bridge, this day dawned cold and gray, damp as a swamp and as dismal as could be imagined. All of the recent arrivals had no idea what to think, as they had never experienced a day like this before.

But the animals who had been waiting for their beloved people knew exactly what was going on and started to gather at the pathway leading to The Bridge to watch.

It wasn't long before an elderly animal came into view, head hung low and tail dragging. The other animals, the ones who had been there for a while, knew what his story was right away, for they had seen this happen far too often.

He approached slowly, obviously in great emotional pain, but with no sign of injury or illness. Unlike all of the other animals waiting at The Bridge, this animal had not been restored to youth and made healthy and vigorous again.

As he walked toward The Bridge, he watched all of the other animals watching him. He knew he was out of place here and the sooner he could cross over, the happier he would be. But, alas, as he approached The Bridge, his way was barred by the appearance of an Angel who apologized, but told him that he would not be able to pass. Only those animals who were with their people could pass over Rainbow Bridge.

With no place else to turn to, the elderly animal turned towards the fields before The Bridge and saw a group of other animals like himself, also elderly and infirm. They weren't playing, but rather simply lying on the green grass, forlornly staring out at the pathway leading to The Bridge. And so, he took his place among them, watching the pathway and waiting.

One of the newest arrivals at The Bridge didn't understand what he had just witnessed and asked one of the animals that had been there for awhile to explain it to him.

"You see, that poor animal was a rescue. He was turned in to rescue just as you see him now, an older animal with his fur graying and his eyes clouding. He never made it out of rescue and passed on with only the love of his rescuer to comfort him as he left his earthly existence. Because he had no family to give his love to, he has no one to escort him across The Bridge."

The first animal thought about this for a minute and then asked, "So what will happen now?" As he was about to receive his answer, the clouds suddenly parted and the gloom lifted. Approaching The Bridge could be seen a single person, and among the older animals, a whole group was suddenly bathed in a golden light and they were all young and healthy again, just as they were in the prime of life.

"Watch, and see," said the second animal. A second group of animals from those waiting came to the pathway and bowed low as the person neared. At each bowed head, the person offered a pat on the head or a scratch behind the ears. The newly restored animals fell into line and followed her towards The Bridge. They all crossed The Bridge together.

"What happened?"

"That was a rescuer. The animals you saw bowing in respect were those who found new homes because of her work. They will cross when their new families arrive. Those you saw restored were those who never found homes. When a rescuer arrives, they are allowed to perform one, final act of rescue. They are allowed to escort those poor animals that they couldn't place on earth across The Rainbow Bridge.

Sascha's Family!

We found Sascha's family!  Wait til you see these pictures of her litter sisters, her two older sisters, and most likely her father.

  Her Sister "Little Bit"

Her father, "Tom"

Her sisters, "Bonkers and Little Bit"

And another picture of Bonkers just relaxing.

So far MH is able to pic up everyone but Tom (But Tom will let MH pet him so it balances out).  We're looking into finding a vet who will work with us on getting the sisters spayed, and Tom needs a bit of work to (MH has been dressing some puncture wounds and some cuts.  Seems Tom likes to fight).

Gotcha!

Good news!  MH was heading to work the other night and saw a little kit trying to get into a apartment.  She was scratching and scratching, meowing and yowling.  But there wasn't anyone there (We found out from the neighbor that the people moved and apparently left their cat and quite a bit of odds and ends behind).  Well, MH set out to catch the little one and managed to catch her (Receiving a few scratches but nothing major).  He took her to work with him since there's several ladies that foster and volunteer at the Denton Texas shelter.

The bestest part!!  She was adopted by one of the guys there at work!  Their cat had went to the bridge about a month ago, and little kit worked her magic.  So she now has a new furrever home and family!

So without further delay.. meet Sascha!!

According to MH she is a big purrer, and loves to headbonk!

Happy New Year

We almost forgot this one
Mainly because someone was at work all weekend.

May your new year be better than the best, and all problems easily solved!
